Platform Members, Roadshow
The Opéra Orchestre de Montpellier recently presented a hybrid performance combining symphonic music and digital creation, featuring a visual work by students from GOBELINS Paris set to Réveil à l’aube d’une ville by Lisa Chevalier, laureate of the Unanimes! 2024 competition.
This project marks the orchestra’s first collaboration with GOBELINS Paris and a new step in its digital development under the leadership of General Director Valérie Chevalier. Nine students from the Motion Design programme created a short film inspired by the concept of synesthesia, translating the music into evolving geometric and organic forms.
Born in 1995, Lisa Chevalier is a French composer specialising in music for visual media, trained at the CNSMD in Lyon, and recognised for blending orchestral writing with digital experimentation.
Two videos have been shared on our channels: one featuring the performance, and another in which Lisa Chevalier discusses the project and its creative process.
The national Opera Orchestra of Montpellier Occitanie has a 88 musicians orchestra, a 32 singers choir and has its own semi-professionnal young choir for 6 to 25 years old.
